It really doesn't if you think about it. Assuming Christianity (or any other religion) is true than it should parallel science and when it doesn't than one of two things must be true, either our scientific interpretations are wrong or our biblical interpretation is wrong, and when these cases of misinterpretation happen (and it has and will have happen to both sides of the spectrum) then they need to be double checked and adjusted to further justify the real truth,

...because Christianity pushes scientifically-invalid beliefs. Magical thinking is antithetical to science.
