Why it caught on: the stock photos of András Arató, a retired Hungarian electrical engineer, reached forums in 2011, where people named him Harold for the pain behind the smile. In this shot he is the man at the whiteboard, and his smile is the exact face of a project update that is green on the slide and on fire everywhere else.
